Linden – Barbara Ann Stewart Bowles age 72 of Linden, died at 11:17 p.m. Sunday, January 10, 2010 following a lengthy illness in St. Clare Medical Center, Crawfordsville. She was born in Crawfordsville, January 4, 1938 the daughter of Wallace and Louise Wilhite Stewart they preceded her in death. She graduated with the 1956 class at Crawfordsville High School.

She was first married to Billy Vail, she later married Richard Blodgett they both preceded her in death. She was married to Robert Bowles and they were divorced. Barbara was previously employed by Ingress Plastene of Crawfordsville and was a Desk Clerk at Motel 6 in Crawfordsville for 18 years. She was a life long member of St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Crawfordsville and loved to spend time with her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include, a son Michael Vail of Sanford FL, a daughter Cathy (Tom) Kruse of New Richmond, a sister Debbie Threlkeld and brother Ed Stewart both of Crawfordsville. Four grandchildren; Kristi (Joe) Gronewold, Joni Kruse, Corey Kruse and Sonya Vail. Seven great-grandchildren: Sammy, Jack, Brooklyn, Lacey, Trenton, Seth and Shelby. Several nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by a son Rick Blodgett as well her parents and husbands.

The family will greet guests Thursday, January 14 at Family & Friends Funeral Home of Wingate 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. A Rosary service will be held at 3:30 p.m. A funeral mass will be held at St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Crawfordsville on Friday, January 15, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. with Father Mike McKinley officiating, burial will follow in Linden Cemetery.
