Barbara J. Matricia, age 65 of Lafayette, IN, passed away on May 18, 2026 in Franciscan East Lafayette Hospital.

Barbara was born on August 29, 1960 in Lafayette, IN. She was the daughter of Robert and Nancy Jo (Lucas) Matricia. Barbara graduated from North Montgomery High School in 1978. She worked as a Manager of Revenue Cycle Management at Arnett, IU Arnett, and IU Health Clinic. Barbara wore many different hats at IU Arnett for over 40 years until her health began to fail.

Barbara was an active member of the Navy Club. The club was a huge part of her life and she served as past National Auxiliary Commandant, Past Squadron Commander, and Past Commander of Ship 12. Barbara also enjoyed online shopping.

Barbara is survived by her sister, Beth Parrish of New Richmond, IN; 2 brothers, Bryan (Dianna) Matricia of Linden, IN and Gary (Kayuri) Matricia of Monticello, IN; nieces and nephews, Corey (Melissa) Matricia, Ashley (Jeremiah) Brown, Monica (Catlin) Rice, Clinton (Kandace) Irvin, Lucus (Angel) Parrish, Tiffany Stanesa, Erika Matricia, Kevin Matricia, and Glenna Mae; and 12 great-nieces and nephews.

Barbara was preceded by her parents and her brother-in-law, Jesse Jay Parrish.

Arrangements are entrusted to Family & Friends Funeral Home of Wingate. Visitation will be on Thursday, May 28, 2026 at Family & Friends Funeral Home in Wingate from 5:00 p.m. until service time at 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the NCUSA Auxiliary.
