Lafayette – Bette Arlene Weinhold Goodrich, age 94, passed away, 10:25 a.m. Thursday, December 28, 2017 at Signature Healthcare in Lafayette, following a lengthy illness. She was born in Chicago, April 14, 1923 to the late Roy and Margaret Stewart Weinhold. She grew up on the family farm near Fowler, IN and graduated from Wadena High School. Bette attended Ball State University, majoring in Art Education.
She married Donald Dale Goodrich on February 14, 1953 in Lafayette. He preceded her in death, June 16, 2005. Bette had two children: Kathy Elaine (Chuck) Fish and Brian Stewart Goodrich, both of Lafayette. Also surviving are: three grandchildren; Kaitlyn Karns, Chad (Emily) Fish and Cody Goodrich. She also had 6 great-grandchildren: Grace, Drake, Chloe', Auric, Asher and Eleanor.
Bette was an outstanding artist who exhibited in many 'juried shows' including the Hoosier Salon, the Religious Arts Festival and showings in Washington, DC. She was a lifelong member of the First Church of Christ Scientist, Art Club of Lafayette and Tippecanoe Arts Federation. Bette was an oil and pastel instructor at Morton Center and gave private lessons for many years. Her works grace many homes, offices and professional buildings throughout the world. She dedicated her life to helping others develop a love and appreciation for art.
Bette will be inurned with her husband, with a private service in Tippecanoe Memory Gardens at a later date.
