Waynetown – Betty Joann McGrew Allison, age 83, died at 6:15 p.m. Thursday, March 9, 2017 in The Lane House, Crawfordsville. She was born June 23, 1933, in Hoopeston, Il, daughter of the late Joseph and Elizabeth Hanna McGrew. She married William E. 'Bill' Allison, January 26, 1952, he preceded her in death February 25, 2017. They had just celebrated their 65 wedding anniversary.

Betty graduated form Hoopeston High School and Jones Business College in Chicago as an administrative assistant. She enjoyed sewing and was a member and very involved in activities at the Waynetown Christian Church, especially the Women's Circle

Survivors include: a son Greg Allison of Crawfordsville, granddaughter Mendi (Rush) McColley of West Lafayette, two great-granddaughters, Allison and Mallori McColley . She was preceded in death by her parents, a son Jeff Allison, four brothers: Gene, Bob, Joe and Dale.

Visitation will be noon to 2:00 pm. Tuessday, March 14, 2017 with funeral services at 2:00 p.m at Family and Friends Funeral Home of Wingate, with Pastor Dorman Winger officiating. Burial will follow in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to Arthritis Research Foundation.
