Obituary

Wingate – Betty Jean Coombs Pritchett, age 91, of Wingate, died in her home at 12:35 p.m. Thursday, April 2, 2015. She had been in failing health. On October 8, 1923 she was born in Crawfordsville, daughter of the late William Jennings Bryant 'Briney' and Ruth Mae 'Grammy' Coombs. She was married to Noble Leslie Pritchett on December 26, 1939 in Crawfordsville and he preceded her in death.

Betty had worked as a seamstress for the Crawfordsville Shirt Factory and later operated the Wingate Restaurant for many years. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary, Women of the Moose and Eagles Auxiliary. She enjoyed hunting mushrooms and playing bingo.

Surviving are, three daughters: Elizabeth 'Betty Jo' (Rex) Fultz of Crawfordsville, Nettie Marie Hare of Marshall and Deb Kay Risner (companion Paul Bailey) of Crawfordsville, a sister: Dorothy West of Crawfordsville. Thirteen Grandchildren, 28 Great grandchildren, 18 Great-great children also survive. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, a son Larry 'Butch' Pritchett and daughter Linda Lou Hutchison.

Visitation will be 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Monday, April 6, 2015 at Family and Friends Funeral Home of Wingate. Funeral services at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at the funeral home with Pastor Rodney Coffman officiating. Interment will follow in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery.
