Veedersburg - Bryan L. Allen age 50 of 448 N. St. Rd. 341, near Mellott, died, 7:41 a.m. Sunday, December 21, 2008 suddenly and unexpectedly in the E.R. at St. Vincent Williamsport Hospital.
He was born in Danville, IL on June 5, 1958 the son of James and Myrna Cunningham Allen. He graduated from Fountain Central High School and was married to Jamie J. West in Mellott, September 3, 1977 she survives. He had been a lifetime resident of the Mellott area.
Bryan was an 18 year employee of Alcoa CSI in Crawfordsville, where he was in warehouse maintenance . He had previously worked for Allen Bros. Farms and Trucking. Bryan was an avid outdoorsman, belonging to the National Wild Turkey Federation, Montgomery County Strutters and enjoyed participating in dirt bike racing with his son. His family and grandson were the loves of his life.
Surviving along with his wife are his mother: Myrna (Mrs. Chuck) Boggs of Veedersburg. Four sons: Christen (wife Kristin) Allen of Veedersburg, Blake Allen, Nathan Allen and Derrik Allen all at home. A grandson James Dean Allen and a brother Linn (wife Terry) Allen of rural Veedersburg. He was preceded in death by his father James Allen in 1997, grandparents Dalmer and Dorothy Allen, King and Helen Cunningham.
The family will receive guests at Family and Friends Funeral Home of Wingate on Friday, December 26, 2008 from 5 - 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Family & Friends Funeral Home of Wingate on Saturday, December 27th at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Duane Mycroft officiating, burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery, Covington.
