Crawfordsville – Carol Hurt Bowles age 73, passed away from complications of COVID-19 at 8:18 AM Monday, May 18, 2020 in Ben Hur Nursing and Rehab, Crawfordsville.  She had been in failing health.  She was born November 13, 1946 in Glasgow, KY daughter of Edith M. Bartley Hurt who survives in Crawfordsville and the late Paul Hurt.

Carol attended Coal Creek Central Schools.  She owned and operated Carol's Green Street Tavern from 1984-2009 in Crawfordsville.  She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Moose Lodge, was an avid reader and animal lover.   Carol confessed her faith in Christ and was baptized in to the Lords Church a few years ago.

Surviving along with her mother Edith are: a daughter Jolinda (Michael) Mellady of Lafayette:  Sisters; Paulette Hurt and Karen Brainard both of Crawfordsville, a brother, Roy (Carla) Hurt of Crawfordsville, a sister Kimberlie Hurt (JimVance) of Waynetown and brother, Randall (Amy) Hurt of Edmonton, KY.

Graveside services for Carol will be held in Oak Hill North Cemetery, 'Green Burial Section', 1:00 PM, Thursday, May 21, 2020 with Brad Phillips officiating.  We ask those attending to please respect the 'social distancing' recommendations.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in memory of Carol may best be directed to Animal Welfare League of Montgomery County.  Visit us online to sign the guest book or share a memory at www.familyandfriendsfh.com
