Wingate- Charlene Goode Northcutt, age 78 died Thursday, October 23, 2008 at 3:55 a.m. at Crawfordsville in Lane House where she had resided since March. She had been in failing health the past several months.
She was born in Tippecanoe County on July 13, 1930 the daughter of Laurence P. and Mildred Cleo Pierce Goode, they preceded her in death. She attended Romney Schools. She was first married to Rayburn Bush they divorced, she later married Richard M. Northcutt in Crawfordsville in 1959, he preceded her in death April 8, 1995. She lived in Wingate until 1998, then moved to Waynetown, then finally to Crawfordsville.
Charlene was a homemaker and had worked as a waitress in Crawfordsville at the Stack n Snack and also the Waynetown Bar. She enjoyed cooking for her family and time with her grandchildren. She had attended First Christian Church, was a member of the Moose Club, VFW Auxiliary and had been a volunteer at the Wesley Thrift Shop all in Crawfordsville.
Surviving are two sons: Stephen Bush (wife Gloria) of Bosque, New Mexico, Ty Thomas Northcutt (wife Quin) of Wingate, a daughter Marsha (Mrs. Dale) Snellenbarger of Wingate. A sister Nina Thayer of Lafayette, a brother Craig Goode of Columbus, IN. Seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren also survive. She was preceded in death by a brother Frank Goode and a sister Carol Staley.
Friends may call at Family & Friends Funeral Home of Wingate, Saturday October 25, 2008 from 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 2 :00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with Pastor Duane Mycroft officiating, burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Wingate.
