Charlie Marshall Dever age 74 of Wingate, passed away unexpectedly in his home 6:50 AM Friday, January 17, 2025 after a battle with cancer. He was born October 6, 1950 in Danville, IN son of the late Alford 'Buck' and Lilian Sullivan Dever.

Charlie attended schools in Danville.  Though not 'highly educated' he was smart as a whip!  He would work on anything and fix anything.  He was employed over 60 years as a farmhand for the Vanderkleed Family Farm in the Shadeland/West Point area.

Charlie enjoyed woodworking, pool hunting and fishing.

Charlie is survived by:  two sons; Adam Dever of Lafayette and Danny Dever of Wingate.  Two brothers; Everett Dever of Clarks Hill and David Stringer of Kentucky.  Grandchildren; Jared Dever, Danielle Johnson, Sage Dever, Bailiegh Dever.  Great-grandchildren; Jace, Jayden, Bonnie, Charlie, Lilian and Jameson.  He was preceded by his parents, a sister Charlotte and brother Eugene Dever.
