David L. Austin age 69 of Mellott, passed away at 6:56 PM Friday, August 9, 2024 in Franciscan Health Hospital Lafayette East.  David was born in Crawfordsville, November 24, 1954 son of the late Russell Ora and Faye Lorane Cox Austin, they preceded him in death.

He was a graduate of Fountain Central High School and a member of Mellott Fire and Rescue for many years.  David was employed by County Market in Crawfordsville as a stocker for over 25 years.  He lived a simple life and kept to himself.

Surviving are: a niece, Terri Rushing of Ft. Wayne and nephews; Tim (Rhonda) Strawser of Wallace, Chris (Diana) Austin of Hillsboro and Mark (Michele) Strawser of Mississippi, many cousins also survive.  He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Eugene and sister Sue Harvey.
