Newtown-Mellott: David A. Wann age 65, died unexpectedly at 11:45 a.m. in the ICU of St. E. East Hospital, Lafayette, Monday, January 19, 2015. He was born in Lafayette on January 31, 1949 to Jean Fauth Wann and the late Ivan Wann.

David was a 1969 graduate of Fountain Central High School and a veteran of the US Navy, serving from 1969 to 1971. He was a member of American Legion Post #11 in Lafayette. Most recently he had worked as a farm hand on the family farm. David was an independent soul, was a colorful character and was proud to have seen 'Pink Floyd' perform live at Filmore West in San Francisco.

Surviving along with his mother Jean Fauth Wann, are three brothers: Gary L.
(wife Jo) Wann of Newtown, James P. (wife Glenda) Wann of Kokomo and Gregory L. (wife Patti) Wann of Glendale, AZ. His nieces & nephews: Genoia Beth Wann Segal, Seth M. (Roberta) Wann, james D. Wann and Corrie Jeannette Wann Sarol. Great- nephew: Orhan Sarol, Jadrid and Brendan Segal. He was preceded in death by his father Ivan.

His family will receive guests, 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Thursday, January 22, 2014 at Family & Friends Funeral Home of Wingate. Funeral services will begin following the visitation at 7:00 p.m. with Pastor Duane Mycroft officiating. Graveside services with military honors by Veedersburg American Legion Post #228 will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 23, 2014 at Waynetown Masonic Cemetery.
