Diane Kay
Adams
December 26, 1952 – September 20, 2024
Diane Kay Elder-Adam's, 71 of Wingate, IN, formerly of Walnut Hill, FL and Oak Hill, WV made her Heavenly journey on Friday, Sept. 2024. She was at home, with family & her beloved dog, "Bailey."
Diane was born on December 26, 1952. She is the eldest of three daughters born to Betty Maxine Wolfe-Elder and Everette Jene Elder in Oak Hill, WV. Diane was a woman of small stature but of enormous spirit! She loved church, singing hymns and would never shy from sharing her faith with others.
Diane had a true love of family and both of her sisters credit her for teaching them to read before they started school. They fondly recall times when they played American Bandstand and danced on tree stumps, and after Diane had left home, she would return for visits and they would gather to sing hymns, while their mother played the guitar, having had special fun with the song, "Blue Christmas."
Diane retired from the Budweiser Corp. She loved animals and at one time, she nursed a crippled chicken named "Chester" back to health! She loved sun flowers, bird watching, was a 'craft guru'. She could make anything she set her mind to. She had most recently taken up watercolor & pencil coloring and though she was ill, she loved sharing her cheerful creations with her many caregivers.
Diane was known for her giving spirit & her husband, Gordon shared that she gifted him by singing hymns just a few hours before taking her first Heavenly breath to sing with the angels.
Diane is survived by her loving husband, Gordon, a stepdaughter, Bonney, a stepson, Butch Adams, her sisters, Kathy Pollock (Kevin) and Mary Criss (Jerry), nieces, nephews, and her beloved dog "Bailey." She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother-in-law, David A. Stephens Sr. a nephew, Nicholas Stephens.
