Donald D. Clore of Waynetown passed away Thursday afternoon at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. He was 81.
Born April 7, 1927 in Fountain County, he was the son of Cecil and Laverne Sowers Clore. He graduated from Wallace High School in 1946. On November 29, 1998 he married N. Janet Clore at Wallace. She survives.
Mr. Clore served in the United States Navy during World War II in the Pacific Theater. He later worked for R.R. Donnelly & Sons for 42 years as a first assistant pressman. He also farmed for 25 years and ran a dump truck business.
Memberships include the Waynetown Baptist Church, American Legion of Cayuga, Masonic Lodge 495 of Wallace and the Two Cylinder Club.
Surviving family members include his wife N. Jane Clore; daughter Becky Whitford of Waynetown; son Jeff (Tammy) Clore of Waynetown; brother Herbert (Irene) Clore of Veedersburg; grandsons Doug (Gina) Whitford, Joseph Clore and Kenneth Clore; and great-granddaughters Kendal Whitford and Autumn Clore.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Malcolm Clore and Steve Clore.
Funeral services for Donald will be held 11:00 am Monday at Family and Friends Funeral Home, Wingate, with Rev. Ron Raffignone officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 4:00 to 6:00pm at the funeral home with Masonic rites at 6:00.
