West Point – Doris B. Stover Craig, age 83 of West Point, died Thursday, May 10, 2012, 1:35 p.m. in Woodland Manor Nursing Center, Attica, where she had resided since June. She was born near West Point, October 17, 1928 the daughter of Cy and Beatrice Weaver Stover. She married Orville L. Craig in the West Point United Methodist Church in 1948, he preceded her in death in 1991. They lived, raised their family and farmed in the West Point area.

Doris was a graduate of West Point High School in 1947. She was formerly employed by Purdue University, before becoming a mother and farm wife. She was an active, life- long member of the West Point United Methodist Church and was involved with the United Methodist Women, Wea Plains Wednesday Club, Edgewood Club and was involved in the West Point Alumni.

As a younger woman, Doris was an accomplished dancer, especially ballet' , she enjoyed socializing and 'Big Band' swing era music.

Surviving are three sons: Michael (Theresa) Craig, Dover, FL, Del (Grace) Craig, Yorkville, IL, Dean (Kristy) Craig, West Point. Seven grandchildren: Jill (Jon) Lauzon, Josh Craig, Sarah (Jake) Flynn, Wren (Josh) VanZant, Ellen Craig, Peter Craig, Julia Craig. Preceding her in death were her husband, son Nicholus Craig, grandson Charles Benjamin Craig and brother Donald Stover.

The family will receive guests 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. Monday, May 14, 2012 at Family & Friends Funeral Home of Wingate. Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at the West Point United Methodist Church with Rev. Jeff Smith officiating. Burial will follow in West Point Cemetery.
