Earlene Bernice (Powers) Foster, age 86 of Wingate, IN passed away at 10:10 a.m. on Saturday, February 7, 2026 at Mulberry Health after fighting a battle with cancer.

Earlene was born on May 14, 1939 in Battleground, IN. She was the daughter of Earl Powers and Florence Irene (Lamb) Irvin. Earlene grew up in Battleground and Wingate, IN. She graduated from Coal Creek High School in 1957. She spend the majority of her young adult life with her husband and four girls in Wingate, IN. Earlene married James Herman Foster on April 7, 1959 in Attica, IN and he preceded her in death on May 20, 2017.

Earlene co-owned Advanced Electronics with her husband. She later was a daycare provider in her home and at the Hillsboro Church of the Nazarene. Earlene loved taking care of children, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, some of whom had resided with her from time to time.

Earlene was an active church member. She attended Pleasant Hill United Church of Christ, First Assembly of God, and then Church Alive in Lafayette, Indiana. She taught Sunday School throughout her adult life and was President of Women Aglow for 6 years.

She was a strong Christian and loved spending time doing devotionals and reading her Bible. Earlene loved reading the Christmas story and baked a birthday cake for Jesus every Christmas. Being a grandmother and great grandmother was a cherished role for her and she enjoyed spending time with them.

Surviving are: Daughters, Cindy Westbury, Brenda Fox (husband: Brian), Jamie Wagner (late husband: Gary), and Sandra Frantz (husband: Mark) Sisters, Sue Wildman of Veedersburg, IN and Merry Voliva (husband: Steve) of Crawfordsville, IN; Grandchildren, Matthew Westbury (Greenlee Rivers), Brandie Miller, Brit Wagner, Giff Wagner, Evan Redders (wife: Jasmine), Christopher Frantz, Megan Frantz (husband: Pierce VanHouten), and Corey Frantz; Great-grandchildren, Avery Westbury, Allyson Ruppel (husband: Evan), Charlie Redders, Finnegan Redders, Taylor Redders, Tatum VanHouten, and Daisy VanHouten;Great-great-grandchildren Darla and Elenora Ruppel Earlene was preceded in death by her parents; husband; 3 step-sister, Barbara VanHook, Frances Beardsley, and Nancy Hoskins; and son-in-law Gary Wagner.

Visitation will be at Family and Friends Funeral Home of Wingate on Friday, February 13, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. until funeral service time at 12:00 p.m. with Pastor Chuck Peterson officiating.
