Obituary
Wingate – Edith E. Etnier Fultz age 98 of Wingate, died at 1:20 p.m. Friday, July 06, 2012 in Williamsburg Health Care, Crawfordsville. She was born in Royal Center, Indiana on July 15, 1913, daughter of the late Stewart and Pearl Smith Etnier. She was a 1931 graduate of Royal Center High School. She was married to William M. Fultz on February 12, 1934 in Delphi, he preceded her in death in 1991.
Edith had been a farmwife assisting her husband on the farm and raising their family, first near Royal Center, then in southern Tippecanoe County and then settled on a farm near Wingate in Montgomery County in 1962. She remained on the same farm until her recent illness forced her to move in Williamsburg in May of this year. Edith had been a full-time caregiver, caring for her husband for 20 years following his stroke in 1971. She served many years as the Coal Creek Township Trustee, was a member of the New Hope Chapel and formerly belonged to the Wingate Chapter OES. Edith continued to drive her car until age 96.
Edith was a very hard working, kind, compassionate woman and willing to share what she had with others. Her warm and positive outlook made her a role model for many. Edith enjoyed sewing and making alterations and did so for many in the community. She enjoyed caring for her grandchildren and family time.
Survivors include: daughter, Marilyn (Russell) Hutchison of rural Crawfordsville, son, Walter Rex (Betty Jo) Fultz of Crawfordsville. Six grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sons: Max and Gene Fultz and a daughter Elsie.
Edith's family will receive guests, Tuesday, July 10, 2012, 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Family & Friends Funeral Home of Wingate. Funeral services will be held at Family & Friends Funeral Home, 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 11, 2012 with Pastor Duane Mycroft officiating. Burial will follow in Royal Center Cemetery.
