Romney – Elnora Frances Lewis DeVault age 93, of Romney died 3:20 a.m. Friday, December 23, 2011 in IU Health Hospital, Lafayette. She was born in Mitchell, Indiana April 7, 1918, the daughter of Thomas A. and Susie Riester Lewis, they preceded her in death. She married James H. DeVault in Jackson Church, June 19, 1938 and he preceded her in death August 4, 1987.

Elnora graduated from Jackson High School and spent her lifetime in the Romney area. She had been the Postmaster at the Romney Post Office, retiring in 1983. She enjoyed her grandchildren, reading, sewing, flowers and playing cards. She had belonged to local card clubs and formerly to the New Richmond Christian Church.

Surviving are two sons: Thomas L. (Sandra) DeVault of Romney and James 'Carl' (Sandra) DeVault of Williamsport. Five grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren also survive. Preceding her in death along with her parents and husband are, three brothers and two sisters.

Graveside services will be at New Richmond Cemetery, 2:30 p.m.Tuesday, December 27, 2011 with Pastor Don Williams officiating. Her family will received guests just prior to the graveside service 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Family & Friends Funeral Home of Wingate.
