Veedersburg – Floyd Eugene 'Junior' Miller 63, of rural Veedersburg, died at 2:25 a.m. Thursday, June 30, 2016 in Parkview Health Care, Attica, he had been in failing health. He was born in Danville, Il, April 25, 1953, son of the late Floyd E. and Clella Cleone Wilson Miller.
He attended Danville High School and he proudly served 4 ½ years with the United States Marine Corps. Floyd was an extremely hard working man, employed in steel mills as a 'ladle crane operator' at Nucor Steel for 13 years, and Steel Dynamics for two years before retiring. He had previously been employed at Harrison Steel in Attica. He loved golfing, fishing and spending time with his family. He especially loved his grandchildren, and very proud of his three children and grandchildren!
Floyd was formerly married to Sharon (Smith) Vail with whom he had children: a daughter, Selena K. (Jeff) Hutchinson of Newtown, two sons: Seth A. (Tara) Miller of Attica and Shane A. (Daisha) Miller of Corinth, MS. The grandchildren who always lit up his face: Alexander C. and Aleesha K. Jordan, Brennan W. and Collen D. Hutchinson, Seth A. Miller II, Tristen C. Miller, Courtney Miller, Korbin L. Miller and Kaydence N. Miller. Two sisters Donna (Rocky) Hudson of Sereven, GA, Anna Haun of Tilton, IL. and brother Charlie 'Butch' Miller. He was preceded in death by a sister Louise Kenny, parents and Grandparents.
His family will greet guests, noon – 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 5, 2016 at Family and Friends Funeral Home of Wingate, with funeral services beginning at 2:00 at the funeral home with Pastor Joe Whitehead of the Independence Baptist Church officiating.
