Forest Wilson, age 87 of rural New Richmond/Wingate, passed away 8:20 AM Saturday, February 13, 2021 in Bee Hive Memory Care, Lafayette.  He was born February 9, 1934 in Attica to the late Wiley and Lola Miller Wilson.  He married Carolyn Lane and she preceded him in death in 1979.

Forest was orphaned as a young boy and raised by Fred and Vera Parman in rural New Richmond.  Forest was a 1953 graduate of Wingate High School and was a grain and livestock farmer.  He operated his farm until he was 85.

He was an active member of the former Wingate Masonic Lodge and a member of New Hope Chapel of Wingate.

Surviving Forest are: his longtime companion of 37 years, Sue Woolwine of Wingate, son, Steve (Jacie) Wilson of rural New Richmond and daughter, Linda (Rex) Ballard of rural Waynetown.  Grandchildren: Elizabeth Ballard of Waynetown, Erica (Jonathan) Winn of Westfield, Emily (Clayton) Horn of Waynetown, Tyler (Katie) Wilson of New Richmond and Tanner Wilson of New Richmond.  Great-grandchildren; Jackson, Jacob & Madelyn Horn, Robyn & Alexander Winn, Thomas & Tucker Wilson.  He was preceded in death by his parents and wife Carolyn.

Visitation hours are, noon – 2:00 PM Wednesday, February 17, 2021 with funeral service following at 2:00 PM, with Steve Wilson officiating at Family and Friends Funeral Home of Wingate.  Interment will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Wingate.  Memorial contributions may be directed to New Hope Chapel, Wingate.  To sign the guest book or share a condolence visit us at www.familyandfriendsfh.com Follow the recommendations of the Indiana State Board of Health and  please wear a mask.
