Geraldine Ena Elmore, age 98, died following a lengthy illness, 7:45 p.m. Wednesday, August 8, 2012, in Williamsburg Health Care, Crawfordsville. She was born January 18, 1914 in Kingman, Indiana, the daughter of Glenn and Ava (Marshall) Philpott. She was married to James B. Elmore in 1934 and he preceded her in death, January, 1994. She was a graduate of Kingman High School.
Ena was formerly employed as the cafeteria manager at Pine Village High School, where her husband was the math teacher. In 1972 they retired, moved to and operated the Elmore family farm near Waynetown. The farm has been in the family for over 100 years. She was a member of Alamo Christian Church and Alamo Order of the Eastern Star.
She is survived by daughter Phyllis Elmore Brewer (Howard) of Vero Beach, Florida and son Robert Lee Elmore (Janet), of Waynetown, Indiana, a brother Lloyd Philpott of Romney, six grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, six great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was pre-deceased by brothers Donald Philpott (Thelma), Carol Philpott (Ruby), Max Philpott (Ilona) and sister Lois Melvin (Fred).
Her family will receive guests at Family & Friends Funeral Home of Wingate, Sunday, August 12, 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be at the funeral home, Monday, August 13, 2012 11:00 a.m. with Frank Phillips officiating.
