Gregory W. Stevens age 66 of Waynetown, unexpectedly passed away at 11:33 AM Tuesday, April 23, 2024 in the ER of Franciscan Health Hospital, Crawfordsville of heart failure. He was born in Crawfordsville March 9, 1958 to the late William and Alberta Fisher Stevens. He married the 'love of his life' Brenda Myers in Turkey Run, July 9, 1994 and she survives.
Greg was a 1976 graduate of Southmont and attended Ivy Tech. He was a retired electrician with IBEW after 30 years of service. He was employed by RR Donnelley for several years and also operated Stevens Electric. Greg was a member of the Crawfordsville Masonic Lodge #50.
Greg was quite the 'Handyman' and could virtually fix anything. He enjoyed cooking for his family, woodworking, fishing and was a fan of the Chicago Cubs and Indianapolis Colts. But more than anything he loved his family, especially his grandchildren and his dogs.
Along with his wife Brenda, he is survived by: a daughter; Misty 'Doodle' Stevens of Greencastle and a son; Tom (Christy) Stevens of Crawfordsville. Step-children; Jennifer (Steve) York of New Market, Christopher (Brandi) Cotten of Foley, Alabama and Adam (Alyssa) Cotten of Waynetown. Grandchildren: Madi (Jacob) Murr, Ashton Johnson, Garrett Stevens, Wyatt Stevens, Ellah Warrick, Jaxon Cohee, and one on the way. A sister Robin 'Marge' (Jerry) Prince of New Ross. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Deborah Dover, niece Christina George and great-nephew Shane Keith.
Visitation hours are 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM Wednesday, May 1, 2024 with funeral services following at 1:00 PM with Pastor Bradley Swain at Family and Friends Funeral Home of Wingate.
