Harriett Bernice Francis Jackson age 91, formerly of Crawfordsville, passed away at 11:35 PM, August 9, 2025 in her residence at Wesley Manor, Frankfort, where she had resided since October 2019. She was born in Crawfordsville, August 29, 1933,  daughter of the late Harry and Laura Myers Francis.  She was first married to Bill Griffin and later married Etherton W. 'Major' Jackson, Major, US Air Force, Ret.

Harriett attended Crawfordsville High School and was employed by R. R. Donnelley & Sons, also as a nurse's aid at Culver Hospital and later cleaned homes.  She was a great cook and taught her daughters to become great cooks.  She loved the many years she lived at Lake Holiday.

She is survived by three daughters: Linda J. (Bill) Stonebraker of rural Lafayette, Marcia (Michael) Murdock and Kathy Traughber, both of Crawfordsville and a son; Jack Lee (Sheena) Griffin of Crawfordsville. 10 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren also survive.  She was preceded in death by her parents and husband 'Major'.
