Izetta Inza Lasley Sennett, age 92 a former resident of the Waynetown community, died at 12:50 a.m. Friday, May 8, 2015 in Bickford Cottage, Crawfordsville. She had been in failing health the past few years. She was born in Perrysville, October 30, 1922 daughter of the late Guy and Lola Hines Lasley. She was married to Merle R. Sennett in Hillsboro, April 11, 1941 and he preceeded her in death April 13, 2010.

Izetta was a 1940 graduate of Hillsboro High School. She and her husband retired from farming in the Waynetown community. As a farm wife, she was a strong-willed, hard working woman, busy raising a family as well as tending the garden, chickens, pasteurizing milk, making clothes and keeping 'life in line' as Merle was farming. She was a woman of strong faith and a member of the Waynetown United Methodist Church. She and Merle were members of the Elks Club, where they enjoyed dancing. She also enjoyed playing cards, crafts and sewing.

Izetta was incredibly proud of her four children, who were the first in the family to attend and graduate from college. She was equally proud of her 10 grandchildren who also attended college.

Surviving are: a son, Clark (wife Nancy) Sennett of Waynetown. Two daughters: Carolyn (husband Darrell) Elijah of The Villages, FL and Mary (husband Jeff) Mason of Zionsville. Son-in-law H. Rodney Holmes of Homewood, IL. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren and 11 Great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her parents, husband Merle, daughter Charlene Sennett, a brother James Lasley and sister Lenore Tuggle.

Her family will receive guests, noon – 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 11, 2015 at Family and Friends Funeral Home of Wingate. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m Monday at the funeral home with Pastors John Booth and Dorman Winger officiating. Burial will follow in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery.
