Lafayette – James A. Frey Sr. age 82 of Lafayette, died Friday, March 24, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. at Rosewalk Village of Lafayette. He was born in Lafayette, October 7, 1934, son of the late Elmer and Rose Ella Baker Frey. He married Axie L. Cox Wissman December 18, 1986 and she survives.
Jim was a graduate of Jefferson High School, Lafayette and retired as a Lab Technician with Rea Magnet Wire. He was a member of American Legion Post 11. Lafayette Eagles and Moose Lodge. He held a 4th degree black belt and was an Arthur Murray trained dancer. He was an avid bowler, a great cook and loved to travel. He had visited Hawaii thirteen times.
Surviving along with his wife Axie, are: two daughters; Debrae A. Frey, Indianapolis and Dawn Lorraine Frey of Lafayette, two sons; James A Frey Jr. and Michael Wayne Frey both of Lafayette. Two brothers; Robert (Diane) Frey and Charles (Sherry) Frey both of Lafayette. Three grandchildren: Bradley, Tiffany and Ashley, four great-grandsons also survive as well as twin grandsons expected soon. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Richard Frey.
His family will greet guests from 10:00 a.m. until the memorial service which will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 30, 2017 at the Pentecostal Church of God with Pastor Chris Black officiating.
