Jayson E. Garrett of Lafayette, formerly of Newtown, died unexpectedly in his residence, Friday, June 15, 2012. Jayson was born in Lafayette, December 1, 1974 son of Cliff and Judy Salla Garrett of Newtown, they survive.

Jayson was a graduate of Fountain Central High School in 1993. He had resided in Lafayette the past year, moving from Newtown. The past 15 years he was employed as a sales welding fabricator, with ACI in Lafayette. Jayson was a family man, loved time with his family especially daughter Lacey and followed all her activities. He belonged to the Moose Lodge in Crawfordsville, enjoyed working out, cooking out and golf, at which he was not good! Jayson was very 'social', he enjoyed mingling and making new friends wherever he may be.

Surviving along with his parents is a daughter: Lacey Jade Garrett of Crawfordsville. Two brothers: Shannon 'Red' (Karen) Garrett of Veedersburg and Kyle (Sarah) Garrett of Lebanon. Uncles: Kenny (Trudy) Garrett of Attica and Ronnie (Barb) Garrett of Colorado. Aunts: Linda (Dick) Stultz of Rockville, Mary Jo Everly of Earl Park, Pat (John) Bennett of Lafayette, Carol Salla of Fowler, Dotty (Joy) Wilson of Monticello. Many nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. He was preceded in death by a brother Ryan Garrett and his grandparents.

Funeral service, Saturday, 11:00 a.m. June 23, 2012 at Family & Friends Funeral Home with Pastor Ed Morrow officiating. Burial will follow in Newtown Cemetery.
