John D. Crawford, 84, passed away March 21, 2021 at home in Zellwood, FL.  He was born December 17, 1936 in Whitley County, IN, to the late G. Cecil and Gladys (Traster) Crawford.  His faith in the Lord was strong, and he was a member of Zellwood United Methodist Church

John graduated from Coesse High School in 1954.  He proudly served in the U.S. Navy for 4 years from January 1956 to December 1959.  On March 30, 1956 he married Judy Yeager.  He had a career in the plumbing industry as both a plumber and plumbing supply salesman.  He enjoyed sports, especially playing golf and watching Purdue University football and basketball.

He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.  He is survived by his wife of nearly 65 years, Judy; children, Debra Crawford, Michael (Debra) Crawford, Pamela (Mark) Bevis, and Teresa Crawford; sibling, Mary Lou Pittenger; grandchildren, D. J. (Eboni) Crawford, Torri (Vincent) Chance, Ryan Crawford, Corey (Sarah) Bevis, and Brett Bevis; 6 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.  John was preceded in death by siblings, Phil M. Crawford, Betty A. Lawrence, Gerald Crawford, Cecil Crawford, Donnabelle G. Becktell-Comer, Dot E. Cox, and M. Dick Crawford.

Graveside service will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 7, 2021 at Oak Grove Cemetery, Columbia City, IN with Whitley County Korean War Veterans Honor Guard presenting military honors.
