Wingate - Longtime resident and business-owner John P. Pipher age 61 of Wingate died suddenly and unexpectedly at 9:58 a.m. Friday, December 26th, 2008 in St. Clare Hospital in Crawfordsville. John was born on May 8, 1947 in Crawfordsville to the late Paul T. and Helen Marie Knee Pipher He attended Crawordsville schools.

On July 2, 2003 he was married to Kathy Cotten Pipher in Wingate, she survives. For 34 years John owned and operated Pipher's Radiator Shop & Tire Service in Wingate. He had previously worked for the former Wolf & Himes Fertilizer Co. In Wingate. John enjoyed going to Sugar Mill Lake, working on cars and collecting auto memorabilia.

He is survived by his wife Kathy and step-children Jeremy Kelly of Attica, and Jennifer (husband Jeremy) Wise of Covington, a sister Barbara Tribbett of Crawfordsville, grandchildren Ethan and Deven Wise, his mother-in-law Doris Proctor of Attica. Also surviving are his dogs KJ and Dufus as well as a community of loyal friends and customers.

Guest may call at Family & Friends Funeral Home of Wingate, Monday, December 29th, 2008 from 5 - 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Family & Friends Funeral Home of Wingate Tuesday, December 30th at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Duane Mycroft officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery in Wingate. Memorial contributions may be directed to the John Pipher
