January 10, 1953 – April 1, 2019
Speedway – Joseph Patrick Cahill, age 66 passed away in his home early Monday, April 1, 2019 after a battle with cancer. Joe was born in Indianapolis on January 10, 1953 and was the son of the late John Joseph and Patricia Anne Sinnock Cahill.
Joe attended Chatard and graduated from Carmel High School. He served two years in the United States Army. For last 22 years Joe and his wife Sissy have owned and operated 'Chill Out Incorporated', participating at events across the country and considered the Indianapolis Motor Speedway as their home. One of Joe's favorite past times was visiting the casino to try his luck with the slots.
He was survived by his wife Sissy and two daughters; Kathleen 'Katie' Cahill and Kelly Davis both of Indianapolis. Step-children, who he considered as his own, Angie (Mike) Steffen of Noblesville and Christopher (Tori) Maxwell of New Richmond. Eight Grandchildren; Jaden, Limi, and Elle Ransom, Jax, Jagger, and Savannah Guidry, and Jaxson and Harper Maxwell. A nephew Ryan (Robyn) Weaver of McCordsville and niece Amy (Kim Duncan) Weaver of Indianapolis, mother-in-law Mildred Martin, brother-in-law Bill (Vicki) Martin of New Richmond and former son-in-law David Guidrey of Lapell. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Molly Weaver and father-in-law Dick Martin.
Visitation hours are 5:00 – 8:00 PM Wednesday, April 3, 2019 at Family and Friends Funeral Home of Wingate and also 5:00 – 8:00 PM Thursday, April 4, 2019 at Feeney –Hornak Mortuary, (2126 East 71 st St. Indianapolis) with graveside services at Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, Indianapolis, Friday, April 5, 2019 at 11:00 AM with Paul Woodruff officiating.
