IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Julia 'Judy'
Marie Harshbarger
August 6, 1928 – August 21, 2020
Julia Marie 'Judy' Harshbarger, age 92 of rural Crawfordsville, passed away in her home surrounded by family, 7:55 PM Friday, August 21, 2020. She was born in Fountain County August 6, 1928 daughter of the late John W. and Anna Wakeland Ehrie. On April 5, 1947 she married Richard G. Harshbarger and he survives.
Judy attended Richland Township High School and for a brief time, was employed by R.R. Donnelly in the mailroom. After Dick was fortunate enough to 'catch' Judy and marry her, they resided on the family farm since 1947. Judy and Dick were soul mates and just celebrated 73 years of a blessed marriage.
She was a member of Liberty Chapel Church and a devoted member of the Ladies Aide. Judy always had a large garden, was a great seamstress and made clothes for her daughters as they were growing up. It was always family first for Judy and her devotion to them never wavered. As a farmwife, she made sure the farmhands were well fed. Whether it was around her table or on the tailgate of a pickup, the food was delicious and bountiful. She enjoyed her time visiting with the workers as they enjoyed her meals.
Surviving along with her husband Dick, are: two sons; Tom (Connie) and Roger (Sandy) Harshbarger, three daughters; Mary (Gary) Nesbitt, Martha (Dan) Goff and Carol (Scott) Miles all of the Crawfordsville area. Three sisters; Norma Kincaid of Crawfordsville, Shirley (Charlie) Keaton of NC and Martha (Sid) Shanks of Il. Two brothers; Jack (Eva) Ehrie of Lafayette and Billy Ehrie of CA. Grandchildren: Michael, Stacey, Brooke, Brian, Michelle, Julie, Matthew. Jeremy and Angela. Fifteen great-grandchildren and a great-great grandson also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents and several brothers and sisters.
Private family services will be held at Family and Friends Funeral Home of Wingate. A public graveside service will be held at Liberty Chapel Cemetery, Noon, Tuesday, August 25, 2020 with Pastor Dorman Winger officiating. The family asks guest to please wear masks and observe Indiana State Board of Health recommendations. Memorial contributions may best be directed to Liberty Chapel Ladies Aide.
