Ladonna Marie McGinnis Chapman age 87, formerly of Attica, passed away 7:00 AM Sunday, September 17, 2023  in St. Anthony Healthcare, Lafayette.  She was born in West Point October 27, 1935 daughter of the late Wilbert J. and Kathlyn Naomi Gay McGinnis.  She married Charles Chapman and he preceded her in death in 1998.

Ladonna attended West Point school and was a homemaker.  She previously lived in Veedersburg and more recently Attica before moving to St. Anthony Health Care.  She was an avid reader and attended the Lafayette Reading Academy.  She enjoyed watching cooking shows, animals and loved time with her grandchildren.  She was a hard-working woman who raised five children…she saw the good in anyone and would have given the shirt off her back if someone was in need.

Surviving are: two daughters; Alice (Larry) Morris of Lafayette and Tammie (Curt) Hill of Stone Bluff.  Two sons; Jim Chapman of Lafayette and William Duane Cox of Lafayette.  A brother; Tom (Pat) McGinnis of West Lafayette, eleven grandchildren survive as well as several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and son Todd Chapman.

Visitation hours are 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM Friday, September 22, 2023 at Family and Friends Funeral Home of Wingate.  Graveside services follow at 11:30 AM in Riverside Cemetery, Attica.
