Obituary

Waynetown – Larry Joe Brown age 59 of Waynetown, died unexpectedly, 10:54 p.m. Wednesday, November 20, 2013 during emergency surgery in the St. Vincent Heart Center, Indianapolis. He had fallen ill at his home earlier in the day. He was born in Crawfordsville, April 5, 1954 son of the late Donald and Winifred Henderson Brown. In 1974 he married Deborah 'Deb' L. Trinkle in Waynetown and she survives.
Larry was a 1972 graduate of Crawfordsville High School and formerly attended Smartsburg Church. The past 39 years he was employed by R R Donnelley & Sons, most recently as a 'hoist driver'. His greatest love was his family, especially his kids and grandchildren. It is suggested he is the biggest kid on Christmas morning . He loved all things IU and enjoyed following the Colts and Butler University. He enjoyed fishing, shooting, golf and going to Florida. Larry was well known in the community where had coached and mentored hundreds of kids over the years as a basketball coach at Northridge, Sommer and Waynetown. He also coached baseball at Waynetown. Larry was known as the Waynetown 'Dog Whisperer'.
Surviving along with his wife Deb are: two sons: Cory (fiancee' Misha Thompson) Brown of Crawfordsville and Ryan (wife Shadon) Brown of Waynetown. Three grandchildren: Jacob, Nolyn and Keaton. Sisters: Karen (Dennis) Brooks and Sharon (Rick) Linn both of Crawfordsville. His in-laws, Jim and Nancy Bishop of Waynetown and aunt, Ruby Vail of Crawfordsville. He was preceded in death by his parents.
His family will greet guests Saturday, November 23, 2013, 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. at Family & Friends Funeral Home of Wingate. Funeral services will begin promptly at 2:00 p.m. Saturday following the visitation, with Pastor Chris Lawler officiating. Burial will follow in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery.
