Obituary

Larry Gene 'Butch' Pritchett, age 73 of Crawfordsville, died at 7:00 a.m. Thursday, February 12, 2015 in Wellbrooke of Crawfordsville Assisted Living. He had been in failing health. Butch was born in Crawfordsville, January 15, 1942, son of Betty Jean Coombs Pritchett of Wingate and the late Nobel Pritchett. He was previously married to Marcella Cane Westfall and Forestine Yeary.

Butch attended Coal Creek Central School and served two years with the US Army, 1962-1964. He had worked at Raybestos and retired from Nucor Steel after suffering a stroke in 1993. Butch loved to drag race his '55 Chevy at Bunker Hill and was involved in garden tractor pulls. He enjoyed deer hunting and the outdoors.

Surviving with his mother Betty, are: a daughter, Christina Gale Pritchett (companion Paul Homer Reagan) and a son, James Austin Pritchett both of Crawfordsville. Three Sisters; Elizabeth 'Betty Jo' (Rex) Fultz of Crawfordsville, Nettie Marie Hare of Marshall and Deb Kay Risner of Crawfordsville. Six grandchildren: Trevor James Cox, Randi Sue Harboldt, Zachary Paul Marshall Mullins, Clayton James Pritchett, Evan Zane Pritchett, Korbyn Nicholas Pritchett and extended family Alita Jacklyn Lowery. He was preceded in death by his father Noble and sister Linda Hutchison.

Visitation will be 3:00 – 6:00 p.m. Sunday, February 15, 2015 at Family and Friends Funeral Home of Wingate. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 16, 2015 at the funeral home with Pastor Rodney Coffman officiating. Burial will follow at Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Military honors will be conducted by the Crawfordsville American Legion Post #72. Memorials to American Cancer Society or Wounded Warrior Project.
