Lorene Clodfelter Townsend age 95 passed away 9:12 p.m. Sunday, January 8, 2017 at Creasy Springs Health Campus in Lafayette IN. She was born May 18, 1921 at Parkersburg, IN to Alvan and Juanita Carrington Clodfelter. She married Marvin Townsend in Crawfordsville, April 26, 1941. Marvin preceded her in death April 3, 2002.

Lorene was a 1939 graduate of Crawfordsville High School. She was a member of the Lafayette Church of Christ on Creasy Lane. Mrs. Townsend retired after working 10 years at Ben Franklin store in Veedersburg. Lorene and Marvin lived and operated a farm near Stone Bluff in Fountain County until 1970 and then moved west of Newtown.

Surviving are two sons,: Tom Townsend and John (wife Clara Ann) Townsend both of Monticello In. Five grandchildren, Todd, Frank, Brian Townsend, Valerie Murphy, Kristy McDonald and eleven great grandchildren. Lorene was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a brother Elton Clodfelter and sister, Ruth Brown.

Lorene's request was to have a private family service at Oak Hill Cemetery, Crawfordsville. Family and Friends Funeral Home of Wingate is assisting her family.
