Malinda K. Rivers Hedrick, age 79, of rural Crawfordsville, passed away 6:50 PM Wednesday, December 2, 2020 in Franciscan Health Lafayette East Hospital, Lafayette. She was born in Crawfordsville, June 28, 1941 daughter of the late Glen and Allena Douglas Rivers. She married Fred Hedrick, September 17,1961 in Mt. Zion United Methodist Church and he survives.
Malinda was a graduate of Crawfordsville High School and a life resident of the area. She drove a school bus over 20 years for Crawfordsville Schools. She was a life member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church and sang with Crescendo Choral Group. She was a lover of animals, especially horses and cats. She and Fred enjoyed going camping around the country.
Surviving along with her husband Fred are: a daughter Diana Wilbert of Crawfordsville and a son; Tony (Laura) Hedrick of rural Waynetown. Grandchildren; Mike (Marcie) Morgan, Matt (Tasha) Morgan, Travis (Amber) Wilbert, T.J. Hedrick, Taylor (Abbie) Hedrick. Great-grandchildren; Katie, Mikaela, Kainen, Cameron, Casen, Madison, Carson, Grayson and Hutson. Several nieces and nephews survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother David and son-in-law Glenn.
Visitation hours are 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM, Monday, December 7, 2020 with funeral services following at 1:00 PM at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church (2131 West Black Creek Valley Road, Crawfordsville) with Pastors Warren Stewart and Marvin Cheek officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to Montgomery County Animal Welfare League. Malinda's service will be broadcast live on the Family and Friends Funeral Home Facebook page.
