Mark Allen Bodine age 64 of Newtown, peacefully passed into the loving arms of Jesus, following a lengthy illness at 11:15 PM Friday, May 1, 2026 in Franciscan Health-Lafayette East Hospital. He was born at Crawfordsville in Culver Hospital December 22, 1961 to Connie Louise Turpin Bodine who survives and the late Ronald Wayne Bodine. Mark had lived in Newtown the past 30 years.
Mark was virtually born with tools in his hands… he attended North Montgomery High School and had a knack and natural ability in working with his hands. He was mechanically inclined and enjoyed tinkering with Cub Cadet lawn tractors. Mark was employed several years as an Independent Contractor with Community Homes, Lafayette and later worked as a self-employed contractor until his health failed. He had an eye for detail and was a great ‘finish carpenter’.
Mark was a Christian man and a friend to many. He never knew a stranger, was fun loving with a twinkle in his eye and just a little ornery streak. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, trapping and simply loved being in the woods or the garden communing with nature and the Lord.
Surviving with his mother Connie of rural Attica are: his daughter; Nicole (Adam) Ratcliff and her children, Layne and Emma, of Linden. Brothers; Gary Wayne Bodine of rural Attica and his daughter Rebekka Bodine of Georgia, Pat (Sharon) Bodine of rural Attica and his daughter Josie. A sister; Mary Bodine of rural Attica. Several uncles, aunts, cousins and friends will mourn Marks’ passing. He was preceded in death by his father Ronald and grandmother Martha Keller.
Friends will be received 6:00 - 8:00 PM Friday, May 8, 2026 with a Celebration of Life service beginning at 8:00 PM with Pastor Dan Jordan officiating at Family and Friends Funeral Home of Wingate. Mark loved animals and memorial contributions are preferred to the Montgomery County Animal Welfare League in his memory.
