Crawfordsville – Mary Isabell Furr Thompson Chesney age 87 died at 3:50 A.M. Monday, December 14, 2009 in the Ben Hur Home in Crawfordsville. She had been in failing health the past few months. She was born in Newtown on August 24, 1922 the daughter of Frank and Nellie May Walser Furr. She was raised in the New Richmond area and had attended New Richmond High School.

She was first married to John Thompson he preceded her in death in 2001. She later married Vernon Chesney and he preceded her in death in 2006. She had worked in housekeeping at Culver Hospital, RMC in Attica and as a homemaker. She enjoyed bingo, crafts, country music and loved spending time with her family and grandchildren.

Surviving are two daughters; Barbara Jane (husband James) Hayworth of Delphi and Sue Ann (husband Gary) Tague of Crawfordsville and a son: Lawrence 'Doc' (Pat)Thompson of Wingate. A sister: Polly Thompson of Noblesville. Also surviving are five grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were four brothers, five sisters and one Grandson Michael Tague.

The family will greet guest at Family and Friends Funeral Home of Wingate on Wednesday, December 16, 2009 11:00 A.M. – 1:00 P.M. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 P.M. with Pastor Ed Selvidge officiating, burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery in Hillsboro.
