Linden – Mary Jean Lochard Harshman, age 94, passed away 1:00 AM Thursday, September 9, 2021 in Wellbrooke of Crawfordsville where she had resided the past several years.  Mary was born in Montgomery County May 4, 1927 daughter of the late Francis and Lucille Paddack Lochard.  She married Harold E. Harshaman in Garfield, March of 1947 and he preceded her in death January 17, 1993.

Mary was a 1945 graduate of Linden High School and the Indianapolis Beauty Academy.  She operated a beauty shop in her home for 50 years.  She enjoyed working so she could keep up with all the 'locals' who came through her shop.

Mary had been an active member of the Linden Untied Methodist Church and Order of Eastern Star.  She enjoyed playing cards especially euchre and was an avid reader.  She and her husband enjoyed wintering in Naples and Frost Proof, Florida,

Surviving are: a son; Fred (Michelle Stewart) of Linden, three grandchildren; Marc (Bunny) Sutton of Linden, Kelly Sutton of TN and Ashley Hodges of Crawfordsville.  Great-grandchildren, Brennen, Kendra and Broden also survive.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and daughter Jean.

Graveside services will be held at 4:00 PM Saturday, September 11, 2021 in the Linden Cemetery, with Pastor Mike Whitacre officiating.  Family and Friends Funeral Home of Wingate is assisting the family.  Memorial contributions may be directed to the Linden Carnegie Library.  Visit us at www.familyandfriendsfh.com to sign the guest book or share a memory.
