Obituary

Mary Esther McClain Messmore of Veedersburg died Thursday morning at Woodland Manor nursing home in Attica. She was 90.


She was born September 27, 1919 to Albert Jay and Bonnie Hall McClain at their country home near Stone Bluff.


She was married to Morris M. Messmore January 20, 1943 at Sterling, Indiana by Rev. Charles Howard.


She graduated from Veedersburg High School in 1937.


She became associate missionary along with her husband, Morris, and served at Source of Light Mission for ten years.


She was preceded in death by her husband on January 1, 2004. Also preceding her in death are one sister, Frances Hershberger and three brothers, Jacob, Albert and Jerry McClain.


She is survived by several nieces and nephews as well as many friends.


Her funeral will be 2:00 pm Monday at Family and Friends Funeral Home, 9700 N. State Road 55, Wingate, Indiana with Reverend Bill Nickle and Bob Cunningham in charge of the services. Burial will follow at Union Christian Church Cemetery near Newtown. Visitation is Monday beginning one hour prior to the funeral.
