Mary K. Cool Remaklus age 87, died at 10:05 p.m. Sunday, April 19th, 2009 in Bethel Manor Nursing Home, in Evansville. She had been in failing health the past several years. She was born in Muncie, Indiana on July 12, 1921 the daughter of Frank and Verena Ray Cool, they preceded her in death.

Mrs. Remaklus was a graduate of Muncie Central High School and was formerly married to Duane Remaklus. She had been employed several years for Goodman Jewelers of Muncie. Mrs. Remaklus had lived several years in Anderson and had moved to Evansville several years ago to be near her daughter. She had been a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Muncie and enjoyed reading.

Surviving are a daughter: Julia (husband Jeff) Smith of Evansville, two sons: Nick (wife Janice) Remaklus of Louisville, KY and Neil (wife Sally) Remaklus of Attica. Two brothers: James Cool of Indianapolis, Joseph (wife Linda) Cool of Rossville, IN, a sister Joann Rubel of Indianapolis. Six grandchildren: Nicholas Remaklus, Nicole Marcum, Abby Kerkhove, Joe Remaklus, Brian & Trevor Smith. Seven great-grandchildren also survive She was preceded in death by two infant daughters, a Grandson Stefan Smith, three brothers: Harold, John and Charles Cool.

Friends may call at Meeks Mortuary, Muncie on Wednesday, April 22nd, 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary Service at 7:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Muncie, 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 23rd, with Father Dennis Goth officiating. Burial will follow in Elmridge Cemetery. Memorials may best be directed to Riley Children's Hospital, Indianapolis, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
