Waynetown – Michael Adam Elkins age 25 of Waynetown, died following a short illness Wednesday morning, January 4, 2012 in the Indiana University Medical Center, Indianapolis. Michael was born in Lafayette on July 20, 1986 the son of Daniel L. and Tammy S. Mason Elkins of Waynetown who survive.

Michael attended Fountain Central Schools and had been confined to a wheelchair since a bicycle accident disabled him at age 13. He enjoyed spoiling his nieces and nephews and enjoyed watching cartoons with them. He also enjoyed 4-wheeling in mud and snow with friends, camping and Michael loved everyone wholeheartedly!

Surviving along with his parents are two sisters: Billie (Travis) Byers of Covington and Stephanie Elkins (companion Brett Risner) of Wingate. Three brothers: Eric (Lycinda) Turpin of Waynetown, Josh (Jessica) Elkins of Mellott and Robert 'Bob' Elkins of Waynetown. Nine nieces and two nephews and his grandmother Doris Mae Elkins of Universal, IN

Visitation hours will be 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 7, 2012 at Family and Friends Funeral Home of Wingate, funeral service following visitation at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Harold Holt officiating.
