Michael Duane Hooker, age 61 of Shelburn, formerly of Francesville, passed away unexpectedly, 9:37 PM Monday, November 26, 2018 in the ER of Sullivan County Community Hospital.  He was born in Lafayette, July 17, 1957, son of Ronald D. Hooker and the late Ruth Stevens Hooker.  He married Stephanie Pellegrino August 23, 2008 in Shelburn and she survives.

Mike grew up on a farm in Jasper County, attended Gillam Township Grade School, the Independence United Methodist Church and graduated from West Central High School with the class of 1975.  He later attended and graduated from Ivy Tech Community College with a degree in Transportation Logistics.  He was proud to have graduated college with his son Kyle.  Mike was employed by the Sullivan Automotive Group as a 'Service Advisor, where he put the customer first.  He strived to create friendships not just customers.  He previously was employed by Brent Fulford Trucking.

He loved his kids, grandchildren, enjoyed his family and family gatherings, music and golf.  Mike loved to laugh was friendly, encouraging to others, was kind hearted, generous and a good neighbor.  Everyone will miss his daily 'political funny' by text or Facebook!

Surviving are: wife, Stephanie Hooker, three sons; Kyle W. (Stacey) Hooker of Sullivan, Seth M. Hooker and Tate A. Hooker both of Francesville, two daughters; Summer Lynn and Madison Lynn both at home. Grandchildren; Chayden, Kyle David, Madison and Tyler.  His father, Ronald D. (Lois) Hooker of Francesville, brother Wallace P. (Janet) Hooker of Attica and sister Julie D. Soplanda of Avon.  Many nieces and nephews also survive along with a large group of friends who mourn his passing.  He was preceded in death by his mother Ruth Stevens Hooker.
