Attica – Mildred Marie Lawson Fletcher, age 93, died 8:10 a.m. December 27, 2013 in Williamsport Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born August 17, 1920 near Mellott, on the family farm, daughter of the late Marion and Minnie Hyatt Lawson. She was married to Cecil Fletcher, December 15, 1942 in Veedersburg and he preceded her in death, February 14, 1990.
Mildred was a 1939 graduate of Richland Township High School. She enjoyed being involved operating the farm with her husband . Her greatest joy was her grandchildren. She also enjoyed just being outdoors and bird watching.
Survivors include: a daughter, Linda McGraw of Fishers and two grandchildren: Jacob (fiance' Laci Guyer) of Attica and Molly McGraw of Nobelsville. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters: Bernice Thompson and Beulah Lawson, brothers: Morris and Murray Lawson.
Mildred's family will greet guests, 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at Family & Friends Funeral Home of Wingate. A brief funeral service will follow the visitation and be conducted by friends and family at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Following the service Mildred will be cremated and inurned with her husband in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery and her favorite place on the family farm.
