Waynetown – Minnie F. Pearson Gayler age 85, of Waynetown died in her home following a lengthy illness, Wednesday, December 2, 2009 at 2:10 p.m. surrounded by her family. Minnie was born June 22, 1924 in Wingate the daughter of the late Willis F. and Mable Largent Pearson. She graduated from Wingate High School in 1943.
She was first married to Robert D. Gayler, he preceded her in death in 1946. She later married, James A. Gayler in Veedersburg in 1953, he survives. She had belonged to the former United Methodist Church now New Hope Chapel in Wingate since the age of three. She had also been an active member of the former Wingate, then Crawfordsville American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed her grandchildren, cooking, dancing, flowers and gardening. Minnie left behind many friends and was always a 'Wingate Girl' in her heart.
Surviving along with her husband are two sons: Larry D. (wife Brenda) Gayler of Crawfordsville and Greg (wife Penny) Gayler of Darlington. A Grandson Luke (wife Heather) Gayler who was raised in their home. Six grandchildren and several great-grandchildren also survive. Preceding her in death were three brothers: Alfred, James and Lawrence Pearson, a sister Geneva Ferguson.
A graveside service will be held, Saturday, December 5, 2009 at 10:00 A.M. in Greenlawn Cemetery, Wingate, with Pastor Duane Mycroft officiating. The families prefers memorials be directed to St. Jude Children's Hospital, with envelopes available at the service. Family & Friends Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
