Lafayette – Nancy Ann Dill Thayer, age 60, of rural Tippecanoe County, lost her battle with cancer, Friday evening, September 28, 2018 in her home on the farm, surrounded by family.  She was born July 26, 1958 in Lafayette to the late Chester W Dill and Doris Dill who survives.  She married Stan Thayer in Lafayette November 22, 1980 and he survives.

Nancy was a graduate of McCutcheon High School and a life resident of '550'.  She was proud to be a farmer and along with her family, operated Prairie Cattle Company and Thayer Show Pigs.  Previously she had been employed by Ceres Solutions.  She was a member of Jackson Heights United Methodist Church, the Landrace Association and the American Simmental Association.   She was a former 4-H Leader in Jackson Township and judge for the county fair.  Nancy loved being outdoors and working on the farm.  She loved animals and had an innate ability to connect with them. She had a natural instinct in caring for cattle, which created a 'trust relationship' making it easy for her to care for them.  She loved Christmas!  Decorating, baking, making fudge, cooking and shopping…it was the only time of the year you could find her in the house.  She enjoyed gardening, canning and cooking.  Nancy was a great cook, and her table was always open to hired hands and visitors. The most important things in her life was her family!

Surviving with her husband Stan, include:  Her mother, Doris Dill, Lafayette, daughter; Elizabeth A. (Adam) Stonecipher of rural Lafayette, son; Clint W. Thayer, of rural Lafayette, grandchildren; Ainsley, Hadley and Easton Stonecipher.  Preceding her in death were her father Chester, sister Bonnie Jean and brother Charles 'Chuck' Dill.
