Attica – Norman L. Martin, age 79, a life long Fountain County resident and farmer, died in his home on the family farm, following a lengthy illness, 7:00 a.m. Sunday, June 25, 2017. He was born in Lafayette on March 3, 1938 son of the late Robert and Evelyn McKnight Martin. He married Judy Richey, who survives, June 14, 1957 and they just celebrated their 60th anniversary.

Norman was a 1956 graduate of Richland Township High School, he attended Purdue University and sang with the Purdue Glee Club with his brother Charles. Norman enjoyed golfing as well as a good game of 'poker'. He began fishing in Little Shawnee Creek, which winds through their farm as a little boy. He enjoyed yearly fishing trips to Canada and Florida with family and friends until his health prevented it in 2016. Norman 'farmed to fish', even though the seasons over-lapped.
