Crawfordsville – Richard E. 'Ricky' Willhite, age 31 of Crawfordsville died unexpectedly Saturday, November 23, 2013 in Crawfordsville. He was born August 14, 1982 in Lafayette to Robert E. Willhite and Rebecca Harkrider Todd. They survive. He was previously married to Jennifer Wilson and Heather McCollum.
Ricky attended South Mont schools and had resided in the Montgomery County community most of his life. He recently worked in Texas for a year. Ricky enjoyed working with his hands and had worked a variety of construction jobs, most recently with Patriot Electric. He enjoyed tinkering in his shop.
Surviving are his parents: Robert Willhite of Crawfordsville and Rebecca Harkrider Todd of Oklahoma. Seven children: Briar Covault of Hillsboro, Haleigh & Travis Willhite of New Ross, Hunter & Gabriella Willhite of Darlington, Kensington Willhite of Crawfordsville and Chase Willhite of Darlington. Two brothers: Brad Lane of Oklahoma and Ryan Todd of Crawfordsville. Grandparents: Barbara Bean of Oklahoma and Myrl Harkrider of Crawfordsville. A great-grandmother: Ann Little of Williamsport and many uncles, aunts and cousins also survive. He was preceded in death by his grandparents: James Harkrider, Richard & Judith Willhite.
His family will greet guests, 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 29, 2013 at Family & Friends Funeral Home of Wingate. Funeral service 2:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with Pastor Alan Sparks officiating. Burial will follow in Willhite Cemetery near Wingate.
