Obituary

Crawfordsville – Richard 'Dick' L. Fulwider, age 74 of Crawfordsville, passed away at 10:10 PM Friday, September 14, 2018 in Bickford Assisted Living, Crawfordsville.  He had been in failing health the past several years. Dick was born in Montgomery County, June 15, 1944, son of the late Paul and Margaret Roberts Fulwider.  He was married to Judith Ann Friend, March 22, 1964 in Liberty Chapel Church and she survives.

Dick was a 1962 graduate of Coal Creek Central High School.  He was employed by Raybestos, and retired as a Quantum Lab Supervisor, in 2009 after 44 years of service.  He was a member of the Raybestos Wabash Club and had been an active member of the New Hope Christian Church.  He had previously served as a Youth Leader for many youth in the Wingate community.. Dick loved to 'touch' people and win them over to Christ.  He helped organize the Softball Association of Montgomery County and had been a coach for the Wingate Softball Summer Leagues.  Dick was an all around 'good guy'!  Before his health failed, he was actively involved with Trinity Life Ministry. His compassion and empathy allowed him to see the good in all people and he tried assist those in need of a helping hand.

Surviving along with his wife Judy:  a daughter, Leann Jo (Stanley) Wethington and son, James D. (Cheryl) Fulwider both of Crawfordsville.  His brother; Jim (Shirley) Fulwider of rural New Richmond. Six grandchildren: Kristi Richmond, Brad Wethington, Stephanie Wethington, Stacey Hansell, Kyla Maxey and Kara Mullett. Six great-grandchildren also survive: Hanna, Zach, Annalee, Haylee, Jayden and Ellie Kate.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation hours are 3- 7 PM Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at New Hope Christian Church, Crawfordsville. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at the church, with Pastor Jeff Keller officiating.  Burial will follow in Oak Hill North Cemetery.  Family and Friends Funeral Home of Wingate is assisting the family.  Memorial contributions may be directed to Trinity Life Ministry, Recovery Rec Center or Alzheimer's Research, envelopes will be available at the church.  Visit us at www.familyandfriendsfh.com to leave a condolence or share a memory.
