CHURCHVILLE – Robert Max Howard, 88, passed away Saturday, April 29, 2023.

Born October 17, 1934 in Crawfordsville, Indiana, he was a son of the late Chester Warren and LaVera (Shultz) Howard. He graduated from Richland Township High School and Indiana State University. Mr. Howard was a U. S. Army veteran, and was employed by the Office of Personnel Management in Washington, D.C. prior to retirement.

On January 27, 1968, he married the former Jacklyn Joyce Sparling, who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Aimee Taylor and husband Christopher of Ashburn, and Jenny Howard of Staunton; a sister, Helen Roberts and husband Russell of Lebanon, Ind.; sisters-in-law Jean Howard of Newtown, Ind and Shirley Howard of Springfiled, Ill.; two granddaughters, Ellen Taylor and Lillian Taylor; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by four brothers, William Howard, Warren Howard and his wife Beverly, Samuel Howard and his wife Gloria, and John Howard; and a sister, Irene Mintern and her husband Pete.

A funeral services were held Tuesday, May 2 in the chapel of Bear Funeral Home with Pastor Lester Kennedy officiating.

The Howard family is immensely grateful to the staff of River Edge Nursing Home and Legacy Hospice for their dedicated care.
