Robert Joseph Matricia, age 91 of rural New Richmond, passed away at 4:40 AM Wednesday, October 22, 2025 in IU Health Hospital, Lafayette following an extended illness. He was born in Crawfordsville November 18, 1933 to the late Augusta and Ruth Pieto Matricia.  He married Nancy Jo Lucas August 16, 1958 and she preceded him in death October 21, 2012.

Bob was a 1951 graduate of New Richmond High School, and began farming east of New Richmond, where he was able to buy a farm and lived until he passed away.  He loved the land and his life revolved around farming.  He enjoyed his farm, fishing and watching sports on TV.

Surviving are his children; Bryan (Dianna) Matricia of Linden, Barbara Matricia of Lafayette, Beth Parrish of Attica and Gary (Kayuri) Matricia of Lafayette.  A sister Marta Tuttle of Indianapols, as well as nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren and sister-in-law Eileen Matricia also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Nancy, son-in-law Jay Parrish and brother Jerry.

Visitation hours are 5:00 – 8:00 PM Monday, October 27, and funeral services 11:00 AM  Tuesday, October 28, 2025 with Pastor Mike Whitacre officiating at Family and Friends Funeral Home of Wingate.
