Hillsboro- Roy Scott Brown age 55 of Hillsboro and formerly of Hoopeston, died at 3:10 p.m. Saturday, November 7, 2015 in his home, following a lengthy battle with cancer. He was born in Danville, IL September 30, 1960 and is the son of Gwendolyn Glover Brown and the late Roy L. Brown. He was married to Debra Graves Phillips on October 19, 1996 in Danville, IL and she survives.
Scott was a graduate of Hoopeston High School and worked for his parents at 'The Darb' in Hoopeston. He later worked for the city of Hoopeston, and retired after 25 years from the Danville Correctional Center. Scott enjoyed working and it wasn't uncommon to finding him working, after work. He enjoyed riding his Harley. His greatest love was his family. He adored his children, was a great husband and would do anything for them. He was a very kind hearted, helpful person, but was known to be a little stubborn and strong willed! He had a unique look, with his hair, sunglasses and flip-flops…and he was often asked for his autograph, as people thought he was 'Dog the Bounty Hunter'.
Surviving are: His mother; Gwendolyn Glover Brown of Hoopeston, a sister; Marcia (Monty) Simmons of Hoopeston, wife; Debra Graves Phillips Brown of Hillsboro. Two daughters; Ashley Kincaid and Avoree (Ben) Pirie both of Danville. A son; Andrew (Shay) Brown of Hainesville, IL. Step-son; Tye (Amber) Phillips of Waynetown, Four grandchildren, Layton, Brylee, Aria and Keaton, with two more coming in 2016. His in-laws (who played a great roll in his life) Richard and Donna Myers of Waynetown and Maggie, the mother of his children to whom he was formerly married. He was preceded in death by his father.
